Evelina Nava

Evelina has represented low-income Bay Area tenants since she graduated from Berkeley Law in 2015. While in law school, Evelina interned with the East Bay Community Law Center’s Housing Practice, Communities for a Better Environment, Bay Area Legal Aid’s public benefits and housing programs, and Public Advocates’ Metropolitan Equity team, with a focus on housing justice and climate justice advocacy.

Prior to joining Centro Legal’s Tenants’ Rights team in 2022, Evelina practiced eviction defense at the East Bay Community Law Center and at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley. Evelina also advocated for tenants with landlord/tenant and fair housing issues while at Project Sentinel. As an Equal Justice Works Fellow, Evelina initiated a habitability project at Tenants Together. During her fellowship, Evelina launched a tenants’ rights clinic in San Jose, where she joined the campaign for just cause eviction protections. Evelina is excited to continue advocating for housing justice while supporting those most vulnerable amongst us.
